I primarily use emotionally focused therapy (EFT), an evidence-based treatment approach to help couples struggling in their relationship by helping to reduce distress and by creating more secure attachment bonds. After an initial consult, I meet with each partner individually to help assess historical and current relational patterns. This helps to identify negative interaction cycles that can inadvertently sabotage intimacy. Other EFT steps include de-escalation, expanding and heightening positive emotion, re-engagement and softening, and finally, consolidation. Your initial free of charge consult will help to determine if your relationship could benefit from this approach.

Clinical Supervision
I provide one-on-one clinical supervision to psychotherapists and other mental health professionals. I also offer on-site group clinical consultation for therapists, social workers, students and other members of multi-disciplinary teams in community-based mental health and addiction agencies. I specialize in concurrent disorders (mental health with co-occurring addiction issues) and operate primarily from a evidence-based harm reduction framework. I have provided extensive clinical supervision to therapists working with youth, families, homeless populations and people from LGBTQ communities. I also educate community-based workers to help their agencies become trauma-informed service providers.
